AMED - Speaking at the conference titled ‘We are building a free society under the leadership of theoretical and practical will’ organised by the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), DBP Co-Chair Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar emphasised that a great resistance has emerged in Rojava and stated that the people of Rojava have already chosen the will that will represent them.
Democratic Regions Party (DBP) organised a conference titled ‘We are building a free society under the leadership of theoretical and practical will’ in Amed provincial building. Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan, DBP Co-Chair Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar, Keskin Bayındır, DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan, DEM Party MPs, Tevgera Jinên Azad (TJA) activist Sebahat Tuncel, DEM Party and DBP provincial organisation members, NGO representatives and many participants attended the conference.
Banners reading ‘Em jinên birêxistin û azad civaka azad ava dikin (We free and organised women will create a free society)’ and ‘The way to a democratic solution and an honourable peace is the freedom of Mr. Öcalan’ were hung in the hall where the conference was held.
‘A great resistance emerged in Rojava against the attacks’
DBP Co-Chair Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar, who spoke at the opening of the conference after a minute of silence for the women who lost their lives in the Kurdish freedom struggle, emphasised that a great resistance emerged against the gangs in Rojava and said:"As we leave behind the 100th anniversary in Turkey, we are at a very critical point both as peoples and as political parties. Either the direction of 100 years will continue or this direction, which does not benefit the peoples, will change democratically.
There is a project that is the envy of the whole world. A revolution has taken place in Rojava. We called it the ‘Women's Revolution’, we called it the democratic revolution of society. A very serious resistance emerged against the impositions of the nation-state paradigm and against ISIS, which the global powers want to make a power in the Middle East. The women's revolution and the democratic revolution that emerged there is actually showing a way to HTS, which the global powers want to create as a new actor."
‘The peoples of Rojava have already chosen the will to represent them’
Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar said that the people of Rojava themselves have expressed very clearly who will represent them, and added: ‘HTS is a new actor in the Middle East and they are describing themselves in order to appear before the peoples with a make-up. We believe that the peoples and women in Syria have already decided who will represent them. Hakan Fidan cannot decide who will represent the Kurdish people and peoples in North East Syria. In North East Syria and Rojava, the peoples there have already decided who will represent them.
Therefore, the war there is a system war. Any change there affects both the Middle East and Turkey. We know that the solution of the Kurdish Question and the realisation of an honourable peace depends on the freedom of Mr Abdullah Öcalan. By not solving the Kurdish Question, Turkey has left itself no way to go. The democratic solution of the Kurdish Question is the main problem of the Kurds. We are organising this conference with the hope and belief that freedom and the solution of the problems will be achieved."
