NEWS CENTER - The number of people who lost their lives in the earthquakes that occurred in Dilok and Mereş yesterday increased to 3,381.

 

Earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.7 at 04:17 and 7.6 at 13:24 occurred in Dilok (Antep) and Mereş yesterday. While 10 cities were affected by the earthquakes, search and rescue efforts continue in the debris of thousands of collapsed buildings. With the search efforts, the number of people who lost their lives is also increasing. In particular, the inability to reach Hatay for help and the initiation of search and rescue efforts after 24 hours brought along a heavy balance sheet.

 

The Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) announced that 3 thousand 381 people died in the earthquake, 20 thousand 426 people were injured, and 7 thousand 840 people were saved alive.

 

After the earthquake in Bazarcix, more than 100 aftershocks occurred.
