ANKARA - HDP MP Oya Ersoy asked the Minister of Justice about the police’s sexist insults to a woman activist.

 

Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Istanbul MP Oya Ersoy submitted a parliamentary question to the parliament, demanding the Minister of Justice Abdülhamit Gül’s response, regarding the sexist insult to a woman by the police, who attacked the group that wanted to make a statement about the September 1 World Peace Day, in Taksim on September 5. 

 

In the parliamentary question, it was stated that the ‘’police’s openly sexist swearing to a woman’’ is the result of policies to ‘’normalize’’ violence and abuse against women.
