Water resources dry up in Hewreman

NEWS CENTER - Nature and life defender women announced the results of their research on Hewreman’s nature to the public. Women stated that 166 of the 255 drinking water sources in the Hewreman area have dried up.
 
The Niwê Women’s Rights and Environment Protection Organization, operating in the Federated Kurdistan Region, announced to the public the results of their research on the Hewreman region in a press release. Sara Selam, speaking on behalf of the Niwê Women’s Rights and Environment Protection Organization, drew attention to the approaching disaster.
 
‘The structure of the region is deteriorating’
 
Sara also provided basic data on the Hewreman region. She underlined that there are 25 towns and many villages in the Hewreman region, that the region, which has a wide area, has a cultural and geographical name and a deep-rooted history, she pointed out that the structure of the region is deteriorating day by day.
 
‘The region is drying up’
 
Sara continued: ‘’According to our research in the Hewreman area, there are 255 water resources. Unfortunately, 166 of these resources have completely dried up. So that means their 60 percent dried up. This creates great fear and anxiety in us. Authorities should discuss the solutions very urgently. The region has dried up day by day and continues to dry up.
