Judicial control measure of perpetrator lifted

NEWS CENTER - The judicial control measure against Mehmet Hanifi Bozaslan, who violated a woman in Şişli, was lifted.
 
Tuğba Erçakar was subjected to violence by Mehmet Hanifi Bozaslan, whom she wanted to leave while she was preparing to leave the house of her friend Ceylan Abazoğlu on December 9, 2020, in Şişli, Istanbul. The violence that happened was reflected in the security camera in the house.
 
Judicial control lifted
 
The perpetrator, who was taken into custody after the incident, stated in his testimony that he did not threaten the complainants, and was transferred to the courthouse after the police procedures and was brought to the judge on duty. The Magistrates’ Court released the perpetrator by applying judicial control in the form of not leaving the house, sign and not approaching the house.
 
He will be tried by simple trial procedure
 
In the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, perpetrator Mehmet Hanifi Bozaslan was asked to be sentenced to imprisonment of up to three years for "simple injury" and "threat" crimes against Tuğba Erçakar. Within the scope of the indictment accepted by the Istanbul 30th Criminal Court of First Instance, the court decided to make the case with a simple trial procedure.
 
The perpetrator was mentally unstable!
 
The defendant's lawyer, Sedat Çakar, argued that his client was mentally unstable in the petition he submitted to the court in accordance with the simple trial procedure. The lawyer also requested that the judicial control measures applied to his client be lifted.

The court ordered the lifting of judicial control measures against perpetrator Mehmet Hanifi Bozaslan.
