MAXMÛR - The new group took over the ongoing hunger strike in Martyr Rüstem Cudi Camp against the aggravated isolation in İmralı.

The indefinite-alternating hunger strike launched in many places, especially in prisons, against the aggravated isolation imposed on Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan continues. Today, the new group took over the action initiated in Maxmûr Martyr Rüstem Cudi Camp under the leadership of the Ishtar Council. While the ongoing action in the Martyrs' Families Institute is entering its 139th day, the 70th group took over the action.

A minute of silence was made on behalf of those who lost their lives in the struggle for democracy and freedom. Speaking on behalf of the 69th group, Sadiq Demîr said: “The Turkish state is testing the patience of the Kurdish people with the isolation in İmralı. They want to take the identity and language of the Kurdish people without their leadership. It is already time for all Kurds to awaken from the sleep of death against this genocide. The Kurdish people should take their actions to the highest level within the framework of the 'Time is the time for freedom' move.

In such an important and sensitive process, the people of Northern Kurdistan should be more careful. It should follow the process correctly and act in accordance with the spirit of the process. Because the aim of the Turkish state is not only to end the PKK, but also to eliminate the status gained by the Kurds.

As the people of Maxmûr, we reiterate that we will be determined to continue our action until our action achieves its purpose. It is our call to all pacifists, let's not bow down to war and the persecution against humanity and be united."

The action ended with the slogans "Bijî Serok Apo", "Bê seroka jiyan nabe" and "Bijî berxwedana gerîlla".
