TJA: 3 Kurdish women politicians should release immediately

	NEWS CENTER - TJA, in its statement reacting to the detain of three Kurdish women politicians by the KDP, demanded that the politicians be released as soon as possible.

	 

	There has been no news yet from three politicians from the Kurdistan Free Women's Organization (RJAK), who attended the commemoration in Shengal for those who lost their lives in the Êzidî massacre from the city of Hewler in the Federated Kurdistan Region and were detained by the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) public order on their way back. Free Women’s Movement (TJA) published a written statement for women politicians.

	 

	In the statement, it was stated that Kurdish women are tried to be intimidated, made weak and detached from life with a racist and nationalist understanding, and said: ‘’For a full century, Kurdish women have been forced to struggle with both male domination and the dirty policies of the occupying forces. It was aimed to hinder our selves, our existence, our role and mission in life, and to be made a slave of a slave.’’

	 

	‘We did not give up the struggle for life’

	 

	In the statement, which said that there has been a war that has been going on for a long time as a result of such dirty policies, the statement stated: ‘’As Kurdish women, we have never been silent in this field, as in all areas of life, and we have never stopped fighting for peace and a dignified life. For this cause, we were sometimes taken captive by the barbarian gangs of ISIS, sometimes we were killed by the occupying forces, who fed the same mentality, while doing politics like Hevrin Xelef and Sakine Cansız. Sometimes we were killed in the party building, like Deniz Poyraz, in this process where racism was deliberately increased, and sometimes we were detached from life because of our identity, like our friends, four of whom were women, who were murdered in Konya just because they were Kurds.’’

	‘’Despite all these attacks, we have never given up on our quest for a free and equal life. We have never ceased to organize all areas of life and to be the front line against all attacks. We got together and organized around our women's libertarian paradigm. However, it is unacceptable for us that Kurdish women are oppressed by the Kurds despite all the pain and oppression in the process we have come to.

	 

	There are hundreds of Ezidi women who cannot be reached

	 

	As a result of the attack carried out by barbarian ISIS gangs on August 3, 2014, more than 7000 Ezidi women were taken as captive, many of them were killed, and many of them were raped. We know that there are hundreds of Ezidi women still unreachable. On this occasion, we once again commemorate those who lost their lives in the genocide and bow respectfully before their memories.

	 

	Three Kurdish women politicians should be released

	 

	As Kurdish women, we have struggled to stop this genocide from the very beginning, and then we continued our struggle for justice and a new life together with Ezidi women. As Kurdish women in four parts, we participated in the commemorations held in Shengal every year, and we experienced the pain of our people together. However, three Kurdish women politicians who are members of the Kurdistan Free Women's Organization (RJAK) who attended the commemoration this year were detained in Hewler by the Federal Kurdistan administration after the commemoration and they have not been released yet. Movement executives Xewla Mihemed Hesen and Ciwana Ebdulbaqî and movement member Seyran Ehmed Hesen are still in custody and no information about them is shared.

	 

	We will not hold back

	 

	We express once again that we have never, ever accepted this blow to the struggle of Kurdish women together. Just as we stood together against ISIS gangs and organized a new life and solidarity together as women in 2014, we will not stop sharing our pain and commemorating this genocide together. We see the detention of women politicians by the regional administration after the commemoration as a stance against the Kurdish women's struggle. Likewise, Shengal genocide commemorations are a part of a great women's resistance struggle that has been going on for more than seven years.

	 

	We invite you to take a stand with Kurdish women

	 

	We invite the Federated Regional Government to take a stand with Kurdish women and to act with the spirit of national unity, not with the increasing feminicides day by day. While Kurdish women are fighting against the occupant forces that try to break their will, the most honorable thing for Kurdish institutions and organizations is to stand by this struggle and embrace this struggle with a national spirit. Any policy implemented otherwise stands by the occupying forces, not the Kurds.

	 

	We call out again as TJA; Three politicians who are waging a women’s struggle should be released immediately! Long live our women’s struggle! We are walking towards freedom with the spirit of national unity.’’
