‘Thoughts are judged in Kobanê Trial’ 2021-06-18 11:23:14     Öznur Değer    ANKARA - Nevin Çarkçılar, sister of Pervin Oduncu, one of the politicians imprisoned because of the Kobanê Trial, stated that the case was a fake trial and said: "There is no criminal element in the Kobanê Trial, either their thoughts are on trial because they are Kurds."   Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Party Council member Pervin Oduncu, one of the 17 political women imprisoned for the Kobanê Political Genocide Trial, was detained in a raid on her home in Izmir on September 25, as part of the Kobanê Investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Then she was arrested by the court she was brought to and sent to the Sincan Women's Closed Prison. Pervin has been in prison for nine months, and her mother was able to see Pervin in the courtroom months later. While Pervin's mother, Hatice Oduncu, shared her feelings with us, her sister Nevin Çarkçılar made evaluations about the case.   After nine months, she was able to see her daughter at the hearing   Pervin's mother, Hatice Oduncu, said that she lived with joy and sadness together. Noting that she could not go to the prison because of her illness, Hatice said that she hugged Pervin after a long time. Hatice stated that she had emotional moments with Pervin.   ‘No one has the right to restrict the freedom of so many people’   Speaking afterwards, Nevin Çarkçılar, Pervin's sister, said that the process was very difficult. Pointing out that they were worn out both materially and morally in this process, Nevin said that a trial without arrest could also be made. "No one has the right to restrict the freedom of so many people," Nevin said. She added: "There is nothing in the files other than names and addresses."   ‘Thoughts are judged’   Emphasizing that the Kobanê Trial is a complete fake, Nevin stated that this case is a political one. Underlining that the case is an attack against the Kurds, Nevin said: "It is an attack against the HDP. Judgement is not a full judgement. We are already in a state of economic, health, social and political exhaustion in society. The government is turning to the Kurds to gain a little more power and to provide vote potential for itself. It suppresses the Kurds as much as it can and tries to intimidate them. It steals people's lives by arresting and punishing. What has been done is not found in any country in the world. In France, when people's lives and property are intended, there is a trial, but there is no such thing in Turkey. It completely judges and imprisons the human mind. There is no element of crime in the Kobanê Trial either, their thoughts are on trial because they are Kurds."
